COMMON VISITATION ARRANGEMENTS
Parents and judges can be pretty creative when establishing visitation schedules. Schedules are often dependent on the child’s age, school and social involvement, parent’s residence locations and other factors.
Below are several styles of visitation plans:
· Regular Schedule:
o Alternating a number of days/weeks, such as every other week or month.
o Rotating weekends
o Establishing 2nd & 4th weekend or 1st & 3rd weekend for visits
· Vacations
o A few weeks or months of schools summer vacation
o Part of or all of winter and spring breaks
o Part of or all of holiday vacations
· Holidays
o Alternate birthday, holidays and religious days.
· Equal schedules
o 6 months in one home, 6 months in the other home
o 1 year in one home, next year in the other parents home
